Rimbink Pato, OBE, the Principal of Steeles Lawyers and a stalwart of the Legal Profession in Papua New Guinea, graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 19823. He was admitted to practice at the National and Supreme Courts of Papua New in November 1984. He is a member of the Papua New Guinea Law Society. With over 40 years of experience in the Legal Fraternity, Mr Pato’s experience encompasses all areas of Law from Constitutional to Commercial and Criminal Laws. Mr Pato was elected to Parliament in the 2012 the General Elections as Member for Wapenamanda Open Electorate in the Enga Province. He was re-elected in 2017. During his 10 years in the National Parliament, Mr Pato held the Foreign Affairs and Immigration Ministerial portfolio for 8 years. As Minister, he played prominent roles as Chairman of the Pacific Islands forum, the Melanesian Spearhead Group and the African, Caribbean and Pacific Group of States. Mr Pato has also co-chaired high-level sessions at the United Nations and chaired Ministerial Sessions of the 2018 APEC Economic Leaders’ Summit in Port Moresby.

Ms Margareth Parua graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 1986. She was admitted to practice at the National and
Supreme Courts of Papua New Guinea in November 1987. She has 34 years of experience in Minerals, Petroleum, Energy, Commercial, Banking, Finance, Corporate and Constitutional Laws. She has served in various roles including Board Secretary and compliance advisor to publicly listed company, Orogen Minerals limited and state-owned entities, Mineral Resources and Development Company Limited and Papua New Guinea Electoral Commission. Ms Parua has vast experience in privatisation of state-owned entities, corporate restructure and related issues. Ms Parua ran her own successful law practice for 23 years. She currently serves on the Board of PNG Power Limited as an independent Director.

 

Mr Samson Minara Graduated from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2016 and was admitted to practice in the National and
supreme Courts of Papua New Guinea in March 2017. Mr Minara commenced his career in law with the Office of the Public Solicitor. He was quickly promoted to Principal Legal Officer & Solicitor in Charge of the Public Solicitor’s Office, Western Highlands Province and Officer in Charge for Highlands Region Civil Matters.

Mr Collin Mark graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Law from the University of Papua New Guinea in 2016. He was admitted to practice at the National and supreme Courts of Papua New Guinea in march 2017. Mr Mark was contracted by Barrick (‘Niugini’) Limited, the Managers of the Porgera Joint Venture (PJV) as a Contracts Officer (Legal) whilst still completing his final year of Law School. A competitive and zealous Lawyer, Mr Mark is highly skilled in Litigation and Advocacy including possessing a mastery of mediation, legal research and interpretation.
